LASER LIGHT/PHOTOFACIALS

A PhotoFacial is a procedure that uses an intense pulsed light system to rejuvenate your skin in quick and easy treatments! This advanced technology will remove skin imperfections like sunspots, age spots, and superficial blue, red or purple veins, reduce the appearance of rosacea and large pores, and will improve your skin texture and tone. PhotoFacials improve the skin by working beneath the epidermis to increase collagen and tighten the skin. The intense pulsed light is attracted to both blood supply and melanin and removes unwanted facial veins and sun damage from the skin. Our system offers a whole lot more than just skin tightening as other systems proclaim! The best part is no down time - you can return to work or other scheduled activities immediately following a treatment.

Who is a candidate for a PhotoFacial?

Men and women of all ages with mild to moderate wrinkles are a good candidate for PhotoFacials.  Patients with irregular skin tone, large pores, sun damage, facial veins and sunspots are pleased with the procedure to improve skin tone, tightening and quality.  A PhotoFacial will tighten the skin, lessen the lines and wrinkles and reduce redness and vessels on the face and neck.  Some patients have noticed an improvement with acne breakouts as well.

What body areas can I get treated?
Any area, except directly around the eyes. The face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, etc. can all be treated quickly and safely.

What is a PhotoFacial treatment session like?
Quick and easy! After your initial preparation, your treatment provider will move the pulsed light handpiece over your skin. The handpiece emits a light that breaks up the pigment in the lesions. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation, which causes little to no discomfort.

What should I expect after treatment?
Pigmented lesions will darken slightly after treatment, and then fade away after about 10-14 days.

Vessels (visible veins) generally undergo immediate graying or blanching and the surrounding area may redden. The vessels then fade after about 10-14 days.

Most people experience some mild temporary redness, similar to a sunburn, in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day.

What is the difference between PhotoFacial and laser treatments?
PhotoFacials utilizing the pulsed-light system is very similar to laser and treats lesions in basically the same way. However, the PhotoFacial process uses a new technology that removes lesions much faster than lasers. Plus with this technology, we are able to customize your treatment due to the multiple handpieces to insure a treatment that is specific to your concerns.  PhotoFacial treatments can fit even the busiest person's schedule.

Pre-treatment of Pigment Lesions Four weeks after one Pulsed Light Treatment

We all want clear skin, but nature has a way of sabotaging us with frustrating imperfections. Luckily, PhotoFacial technology has been growing in leaps and bounds, culminating in the PhotoFacial process, using pulsed light to treat the following problems:

bullet Pigmented Lesions (sunspots or age spots) - occur in response to sun-induced skin injury and appear as dark brown circles, known as solar lentigines. There can also be diffuse browning of the skin, known as actinic bronzing.
bullet Vascular Lesions - superficial blue, red, or purple veins under the skin's surface. Some common types include rosacea (facial inflammation) and spider veins (tiny vessels that appear near the surface of the face).
